A total of 44 Health Institutions have gathered in Fort Portal College of Health Science in Fort Portal City, Kabarole district for their 20th Edition of National Health Institutions Games.
These games are in disciplines of Athletics (Field, Cross country, and Track events), Mind Games (Omweso, Draught, Chess, and Scrabble), and Ball games (Volleyball, Netball, Football, Handball, and Woodball).
The games are expected to take 8 days with the 1st day (28th Aug 2022) being reporting date and the last day (4th Sept 2022) being the departure day.
Athletics started today the 29th Aug 2022 and shall end tomorrow the 30th Aug 2022, Mind Games and wood ball are played concurrently with Athletics.
Ball games will start on the 31st Aug 2022 and shall end on the 4th Sept 2022 with the classification matches in the morning and the afternoon will have finals.
The best Teams from this National Health Institutions games in all categories are to be selected to represent Uganda at the East African Health Institutions games whose venue and dates will be communicated later.
Fort Portal College of Health Sciences is the 2019 Volleyball boys’ Champions, Ngora Nursing and midwifery, Girls Football 2019 Champions, UIAHMS Football 2019 champions, Girls Volleyball and Netball Champions have not shied away from this year’s Edition, their dominance has not scared the new entrants like Kabong College of Nursing and Midwifery.
The usual faces of Virika, Kabale, IUIU, Soroti, Kumi, Kampala, Masaka, Kamuli, Mbale SOCO, Salem, Arua, Lira, Gulu to name but a few have not given up, they are here to prove the statement that “Next time Better”
