In the last game for game week 20 in the Uganda premier league today, we saw KCCA FC make a long trip to Arua to face Onduparaka at green light stadium.
Halftime saw the two teams draw goalless with not much to report from both sides in regards to attack, although there were few key moments for the kasasiro boys to go in front in the game, those chances were neutralized very well by onduparaka defence to keep the game at 0 : 0 by the halftime whistle.
The second half started with KCCA asking more questions than the home side who had to play the defensive role for most part of the game. But with some bit of brilliance going forward, the home team couldn’t do much to prevent Sadat Anaku from scoring in the 79th minute to give his team a 1 : 0 lead heading towards the final 10 minutes of normal play.
At 1 : 0, it was clear that KCCA needed to just hold their position and defend well to protect this lead, a duty to which they executed sufficiently to deny the home team a point in the game.
KCCA now occupies 4th position in the league on 37 points level with police FC who have an inferior goal difference. Consequently for Onduparaka this loss meant that they dropped to 11th position on 24 points, and they could be dragged to the relegation fight if the current run of poor performances continues.
Next on the menu for KCCA is a home visit by Bright stars, whereas Onduparaka will travel away to meet Express FC.
