A tactical look at the new boys on the NBL block: Nam Blazers

Namuwongo based basketball team Nam Blazers (Nam is an abbreviation for Namuwongo) came through lower divisions and gained promotion to the top division in 2019 before the COVID pandemic hit the sports scene. 

The club was established in 2015. Big ambitions are written all over it’s swaggerific rise to the NBL. And now, there is much excitement amongst fans from the squad they have assembled. 

They have also struck a number of sponsorship deals with different partners who have come in to strengthen the team with financial and logistical muscle. 

Nam blazers have a partnership deal with Motorola Solutions, Samantha solutions and Radio Trans. 

They boost a new squad with new signings who bring a lot of experience from playing in the National Basketball League for more than a season. 

Former MVP Geoffrey Soro and Francis Azolibe join Cyrus Kiviri and Paul Odong. 

Former Warrior’s point guard Chris Omanye joins the team to boost the team. 

David Denga formerly of UCU Canons is also joined by 7 time champion Daniel Jjuko.

Paul Odong (captain), David Deng, Emmanuel Okumu, Chris Omanye, Daniel Jjuko, Syria Kiviri, Daniel Monoja, Bernard Okumu,Geoffrey Soro, and Francis Azolibe.
