Acholi 2-1 Buganda
Acholi Province overcame a goal deficit to overcome Buganda Province at a jam-packed Boma Grounds, Kitgum on Sunday for the 2022 FUFA Drum quarterfinal first leg.
Buganda announced their presence in the early minutes through Frank Ssebufu thanks to a Vianey Ssekajugo timely assist following a breach in the hosts’ defense.
Dickson Kigongo and Dan Birikwalira provided the necessary defense for Buganda to end the first stanza with the lead.
The reigning champs came out strong in the second half, pressing hard for an equalizer but failing to penetrate the tenacious Buganda defense.
After coming off the bench, Norman Ogik scored the equalizer for the home team in the 64th minute, and Francis Onekalit added the other goal one minute later to excite the fans.
