Akena Foundation has donated rugby balls and referee clothing to Uganda Rugby Union in Northern Uganda for 2021 league to enable players and Referees in the region to swing back to active rugby.
Present at the handover of the equipment was Mr. Amato James (Chairman Northern Uganda Rugby Association) and Leonard Lubambula( National Women’s XVs team coach)
The donation is to support the Union’s return to play program – An effort towards restarting rugby in the 2021 season after challenges experienced in 2020 through to 2021.
The equipment was handed over by Mr Johnson Ojara a founding member of the Akena Foundation
The Foundation is looking forward to better partnership with the Union through providing resources to keep Rugby alive in Northern Uganda.
