Prior to the semifinals, the National Council of Sports (NCS) gave the Ateker Cup, the largest competition in the Eastern Region, a significant boost.
The sports regulator gave the executive stuff, including footballs and jerseys.
Dr. Patrick Ogwel, general secretary of the NCS, presented a selection to the teams participating in the annual sports competition, which includes teams from the Teso Region, at their headquarters in Lugogo.
100 footballs, 20 netballs, 10 volleyballs, 3 trophies, 3 sets of nets, and 4 sets of jerseys for the football semifinalists of the competition, which draws 16 districts, were all part of the equipment.
“The donation is in line with the NCS Strategic Plan of talent identification and development. Karamoja region has already benefited, and others to follow,” Ogwel said during the equipment handover.
CEO of the Ateker Cup competition Isaac Olupot and other authorities received the equipment.
