Kyetume FC is a football club from Mukono and in today’s episode we also take a look at their survival chances in this year’s Uganda Premier League. The Mukono Boys were beaten in gameweek 24 of the Uganda Premier League by 2:0 at the MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

But for this season, Kyetume FC have already lost 46 points, and collected only 12 points from 4 wins and 8 from drawing 8 times to give them a total of 20 points in 24 games played this season.

And now with 6 games remaining until the end of the season, their survival chances hinge solely on them winning all their 6 remaining league matches to collect a total of 18 points they need to go to 38 points on the last day of the Uganda Premier League in game week 30.

This  seems impossible mathematically and operationally, but chances are if the teams above them continue to drop points and they win all their games or win 3 of their remaining matches and draw in two of them, they will go to 31 points by the time the league ends and given what happened with teams like Busoga United, Onduparaka and BUL which occupy places above them, they could survive relegation.

But the daunting task will be for them to pick up points from their games against URA at home, SC Villa away, and Vipers FC away on the last day of the competition. The fixture against Mbarara City at home is winnable, Bright Stars FC away and Onduparaka at home are some of the key must win matches for them if they want to survive.

Mathematically, odds don’t look promising for the Mukono boys but in football anything is possible and my prediction is they could survive given that they win 4 and draw in one or two of their coming 6 matches. RELEGATION with slim chance of survival based on their performances.
