Sand Cranes coach Salim Muwonge has announced his final 15-man final squad which will be representing Uganda at the CAF Beach soccer Africa cup of Nations which is slated to kick off on 23rd May 2021 in Senegal.

The squad which comprises 3 goalkeepers, 6 defenders, and 6 forwards consists mainly of players from St Lawrence University Beach Soccer club. Out of the 15 players, 8 players play for St Lawrence University Beach Soccer Club.

It is no surprise that St Lawrence University has a lion’s share of the numbers representing Uganda at the Beach soccer Africa cup of Nations after the beach soccer club successfully defended their league title in April of this year.

Among the named players is the 2021 Beach soccer league top scorer Swaleh Ssimbwa who scored 30 goals while the league’s MVP Ambrose Kigozi also made the cut.

Buganda Royal BSC’s goalkeeper Samson Kirya was the only player to be dropped. The team leaves Uganda for Senegal on Wednesday 19th May 2021 and it will play its debut game against Tanzania on Sunday 23rd May 2021.
