Uganda Rugby 7s team is currently taking training sessions at Legends Rugby Grounds every Monday, Thursday and Saturday. This is in preparation for the Repechage Tournament in Monaco in June.

The Repechage Tournament is a one-off event to determine the final 2 women’s and one men’s team qualify for the Rugby 7s Olympics Games in Tokyo next year.

12 women’s teams and 10 men’s teams will compete in a round-robin competition in Monaco from 19-20 June 2021.

Uganda will play in the men’s Group B, which also has Chile, Hong Kong, Jamaica and favourites France.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there were no fans allowed in Monaco for the games. However, fans should jubilate after organizers confirmed that 5,000 fans will be able to watch all the action from the second and third days of the iconic Stade Louis II.

The action kicks off on Friday 18th June with Zimbabwe playing Mexico being the first of two matches for the day. Fans are invited to join the festivities in the stadium for a packed program of men’s and women’s matches on day two and three which will spell into two women finals and one men’s final on Sunday evening.
