Bottom placed Northern Gateway FC welcomes top flight hopeful Mbarara City FC

Northern Gateway FC vs Mbarara City FC.

Relegation alarmed Northern Gateway FC will host Mbarara City FC at the gate stadium in Lira on Thursday 19th January in the FUFA Big League.

Northern Gateway FC are currently bottom of the table (16th) having managed only nine points from the fourteenth played matches.

They have registered two wins three draws and nine losses scored only twelve letting in thirty two goals.

The only two victories the Lira side has managed this season were 0-3 away to Soroti City FC and 2-1 at home against fellow strugglers Adjumani Town Council FC.

Coming to this game Emmy Okwir coached side were demolished by Ndejje University FC 5-0 away at Bombo military ground.

This is their seventh match at home, they have managed one win from the six at their base which was against Adjumani Town Council FC 2-1.

The other five have been three draws and two defeats. They have Conceded in every match at home.

The visitors Mbarara City FC, are second on the log with 29 points, one bellow leaders Kitara FC who visit Karo Karungi Fc in Ibanda in their last first round fixture.

The Ankole Lions only loss this season came away over Luweero United on 22nd December last year. Since that defeat they are unbeaten in the last three fixtures, winning two and drawing one in the process.

Coming to this one Sadiq Sempigi men squeezed a 1-0 home win against Karo Karungi FC thanks to Henry Kitegenyi late strike which look his goal tally to thirteen.

It is important to note Mbarara City FC are winless in the last two games played away from home, lost 2-1 to Luweero United and shared spoils with Adjumani Town Council FC 2-2.

Should they manage a win over Adjumani Town Council FC and Kitara fc fail to beat Karo Karungi FC the Mbarara side will definitely end first round on top of the table.
