Less than 48 hours to the Uganda Cup return leg game between Vipers SC and SC Villa, news has come up indicating that Vipers SC head Coach has stepped down as head coach to take on the role of the National team Couch.
Fred Kajoba who replaced Edward Golola as the Vipers SC’s head coach in January 2020 and led the team to their fourth League title has resigned just after one year and five months in charge.
This followed a decision taken after the Club’s Technical Director Masembe Charles asked him to decide between Vipers Sports Club and Uganda Cranes.
Fred Kajoba was seen today morning with the Uganda Cranes team in a training session at the Omondi Stadium Lugogo as they prepare for their friendly game against South Africa in Johannesburg on 10th June 2021.
According to the Football256, Kajoba said that when he went for the afternoon training session at Vipers, Mr Masembe called him in his office and asked him to choose between Vipers and Uganda.
Without thinking twice, he told him Uganda Cranes because when Vipers hired him, he was working with the Uganda Cranes and he would always choose the Cranes any day over any club job.
So he resigned from the job and had to say goodbye to the players as he left St Mary’s Stadium.
So this leaves Paul Kiwanuka, Francis Mugerwa and Ibrahim Mugisha the goalkeeping coach who have been working with Fred Kajoba at Vipers with the task of taking the Club forward.
Vipers are currently lying in the position on the Uganda Premier League table with 56 points, two points behind the table leaders Express FC and one point behind second-placed URA FC.
