Bujumbura United cruise past Kirasa United to remain unbeaten

Result: Bujumbura United 2-0 Kirasa United.

Bujumbura United beat Kirasa United to remain unbeaten this season in the game played at Kibanjwa primary school play ground on Sunday 8th of January.

Bwambale Christopher and Opio David scored for the home team on the day to ensure maximum points.

Opio broke the deadlocks eleven minutes into the second half giving his side a 1-0 lead. This was his sixth goal of the season in six matches.

Six minutes to normal time, 2022 transfer window arrival Bwambale Christopher doubled the lead for the Kibanjwa Lions, hence 2-0.

This was Bwambale’s first goal with Bujumbura United since joining from fellow region League side Bronkens FC in Fort Portal. 

The result means Bujumbura United remain the only undefeated teams in the league, won five and drawn one.

Robert Donney coached side has scored most goals sixteen and Conceded the least three.

They move to sixteen points after six games still on top of the table, three above second placed Dove FC.

On the other side Kirasa United were condemned to third defeat of the season remaining at eight points, scored five goals and Conceded nine in the process.

Next on agenda Bujumbura United make a trip to Kagadi United on Sunday 15th of January, on the same date Kirasa United at home host Dove FC in a Masindi affair.

Other matchday results, Bugoigo Leopards were 3-1 winners over Kagadi United in Buliisa, in Kiryandongo Bweyale United thumped Blue Star Mugarana FC 5-0, Buhimba Saints United put 2-0 past Jeeja FC while Busesa United and Kiryandongo United spared spoils in a 1-1 score line.
