Wednesday May 5, 2021 at Kavumba Recreation Ground 4pm, is where Bright Stars FC will be battling the Uganda police in the second leg of the Uganda Cup. Bright stars were beaten by Police FC 4:1 in the first leg of this tie and today they have a daunting task ahead of them to overturn the first leg result if they want to keep their cup dreams alive for this year.

If history has served us well in this competition already, they have given us a glimpse of what they can do by overturning their 1-0 defeat against Paidha Black Angels in the first leg of the round of 32 and qualifying to this stage with a very impressive display. But today they will need to do much more as they need a scoreline of 3-0 to send Uganda Police packing, which will not be an easy thing to do.

Bright Stars are expected to name a strong team after resting a few players in their first leg defeat at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo. With Samuel Ssekamatte and Joseph Akwandanaho all expected to be available for selection and ready to give Police FC a run for their money.

For Police FC coach Abdullah Mubiru, this is like their only chance at winning any silverware this season, and if they are to allow Bright Stars to overturn the 4-1 result they had in the first leg, it would be a very huge disappointment for them. But in football never say never until it is done at full time. I expect them to progress to the quarter final, even though it won’t be easy today, but 4PM is almost here for us to confirm who makes the cut between the two sides.
