FT: City Oil 63-60 UCU Canons
The champions beat UCU canons enroute to their 6ths straight win of the season.
It was a tough encounter for Mandy Juruni’s outfit who faced a sleek UCU side. The canons were really impressive playing good basketball. The Canons were so competitive that the game had to be decided in the last 4 seconds.
UCU canons missed the services of shooting guard Jerry Katanga and Isaiah Ater.
The champions have Fidel Odour Okoth and Jimmy Enabu to thank for the win. City Oilers have a front of Laundry Ndikumana, James Okello and Okoth.
On Saturday, it was Okoth who stood up for the Oilers. The Kenyan had 3 shots from a 3 point range. He also registered 12 points and 6 rebounds.
The Canons led 32-27 in the 3rd quarter. Heading into the last 15 minutes, they collapsed and allowed the Oilers to turn the game around 44-35.
Jimmy Enabu of City Oil intercepted Fadhil China’s pass to Lual, he set up Drileba Tonny who made the most of it with a lay up to increase the lead to 7 points.
Fadhil Chuma made amends with a dropped 3 pointer to reduce the deficit back to 2. However, Enabu came to life and settled the contest with one basket of two free throws.
