Tooro United, after blowing away their chance on Wednesday to seal a direct promotion to the Uganda Premier League for next season, are now in a situation of the winner taking it all. The leaders of the Rwenzori Group failed to seal their qualification when they drew goalless with Luweero United in their second last game. Tooro United with 28 points are two points clear of second placed Proline FC who had to overcome Ndejje University 3:2.

This year, the 2021 FUFA Big League season will officially come to a close on Sunday, 13th June with 8 matches on the card across the country. It is a make-or-break for Tooro United if they are to earn a direct promotion to Uganda premier League.

Rwenzori Group leaders Tooro United entertain Kigezi Home Boyz at Mutesa II Wankulukuku eyeing maximum points to return to the Uganda Premier League. Whereas second placed Proline FC will also be up against Water FC in their final game at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo, and a win could put them above Tooro United

And due to the dilemma involved in their last game, Tooro United head coach Edward Golola, has called upon his players to raise their game against Kigezi Home Boyz in order to seal a direct promotion to the Uganda Premier League.

Golola was addressing the media during the club’s official unveiling of the team’s new kit by betting firm 1XBet at Kati Kati Restaurant in Lugogo on Friday, 11th June 2021. The veteran tactician said in a statement, “We have the ball in our court. I request the players to raise their game and seal it on Sunday. There will be no playing games. We need direct qualification to avoid playoff pressures and politicking. I have talked to the players and they are aware of the task ahead of them.”

Failure to win against Kigezi Home Boyz and Proline pick up the three points against Water FC at MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo, means that Proline will return to the Uganda Premier League directly without having to compete in the playoffs.
