Zanzibar 1-0 Uganda

Zanzibar humbled Uganda Cranes 1-0 in a friendly encounter.

At Amaan Stadium, in the 76th minute, Ibrahim Mkoko scored the game’s lone goal to gift Zimbabwe the win.

Coach Milutin Sredojevic, also known as Micho, made alterations to the lineup.

Goalkeeper Nafian Alionzo and defender Gavin Kizito Mugweri were the only players to keep their spots in the team that had begun against Ethiopia on Sunday.

Livingstone Mulondo, Marvin Youngman, John Revita, Siraje Ssentamu, and Milton Karisa were all on the bench.

The outcome means that the Uganda Cranes have been unable to score in any of their three friendlies, twice against Ethiopia (1-0, 0-0).

Uganda will stay in Zanzibar up to Friday before connecting to Tanzania mainland.

The first leg between Uganda and Tanzania is slated for Sunday, 28th August at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.

The return leg will be played on 3rd September at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
