Cranes bombard off to Malawi in bid to make it to 3rd consecutive AFCON.

A contigent led by the FUFA executive committee member Ronnie Kalema left for Malawi on Sunday morning for the crane’s final group game of the qualifier to be played on Monday 29th march 2021.

FUFA president Eng. Moses Magogo, 1st vice president Justus Mugisha, and executive committee member Ariga Rasoul also travelled with the 23 man squad which was named by head coach Abdallah Mubiru.

The notable absentees from the team are FC Ashdod’s Fahad Bayo who got injured against Burkina faso and Timothy Awany.

On arrival, the team had little time to waste as they had an evening practice session at 4:00 pm at the Kamuzu Stadium.

The Cranes will face off with Malawi in the Kamuzu Stadium at 7:00 pm Ugandan time. The Ugandan team must win or collect a point against the home team in Blantyre to qualify for the finals of the African Cup of Nations for the third consecutive time.
