Cricket cranes registered their seventh win in Kigali after edging Rwanda on Tuesday 20th December 2022.
Its not a big deal that Cricket cranes went past Rwanda but its the consistency of some players who are putting up a good show in Rwanda.
Uganda won the toss and opted to bowl first against Rwanda a decision that went on to yield better results at the end of the game.
Didier Ndikubwimana and Orchide Tuyisenge stood out for Rwanda during their innings with double figures of 19 runs off 24 balls and 21 runs off 30 balls, but their efforts were not good enough to lead the team to a big score that they could defend.
All the Cricket cranes bowlers were the main gents to run the bowling show on the day but Bilal Hassan stood firm with his figures of 3/9 in the three overs he bowled as he was named the man of the match.
Frank Nsubuga, Juma Miyagi and Henry Ssenyondo picked two wickets each to help cricket cranes restrict Rwanda to a score of 67/10 in 17.3 overs.
In the chase, Simon Ssesazi and Ronald Lutaya opened Uganda’s batting as each posted 18 runs off 11 balls and 5 runs off 4 balls to give Uganda a perfect start.
Kenneth Waiswa efforts with the bat saw him register 30 runs off 25 balls, boosting Uganda’s score despite him falling five runs to win.
The result means Uganda still tops the three Nation tournament with seven wins and one loss that came off Tanzania.
Uganda will return to action and a win against Tanzania should make them champions of the inaugural Tri-Nations T20 Cup.
