After renaming the futsal super league groups to Albert and Victoria Nile, the new season kicked off this weekend with all games taking place at Old Kampala Sports Arena.
As a way of observing curfew hours, the games were played between 9 am and 1 pm.
In their maiden appearance in the super league, Eddy Kenzo’s Big Talent FC got off on a winning start in the Albert Nile group with a 7-11 win against Kampala Junior team (KJT) in this season’s opening game. KJT’s Billy Nkata scored a hattrick.
The group’s other game saw Mengo FC get the better of Aidenal SOSA FC 8-2. Mengo leads the group on goal difference.
The Victoria Nile group witnessed Newcomers Synergy Futsal club defeat Kabowa Futsal club 5-4 in the last game of the day while Kisenyi Futsal Club had to fight had to secure a 4-4 draw against Park futsal with Kisenyi’s Sadam Larson grabbing a brace.
