FT: Asubo Gafford Ladies 1-1 Dynamic SS Jjeza WFC
Venue: FUFA Technical Centre Njeru
Dynamic SS Jjeza Women Football Club needed a stoppage time equalizer to snatch a point off Asubo Gafford Ladies as action in Group A of the FUFA Women Elite League entered day two at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
Both teams came into Sunday’s clash on the back of losses in their respective opening games. Asubo Gafford Ladies lost to King of Kings while Dynamic SS Jjeza on the other hand had lost to Luweero Giant Queens.
Despite having a good start and getting the better chances in the game, Asubo Gafford Ladies failed to put them away and they came to haunt them.
The opening 45 minutes virtually had no realistic efforts at goal from either side. Both Asubo Gafford Ladies and Dynamic SS Jjeza failed to get the cutting edge in the final third.
Defender Claire Namatovu eventually broke the deadlock five minutes after recess capitalizing on a goal melee to tap home and give Asubo Gafford Ladies the lead.
Dynamic SS Jjeza despite conceding kept believing and made inroads in a bid to find the equaliser and at least salvage a point.
The goal finally came in the first minute of added time when Aisha Namukaaya curled direct from a free kick.
Asubo Gafford Ladies defender Christine Nambirige fouled Namukaaya on the right wing and the latter took the resultant free kick.
The result takes the two sides to one point apiece with Asubo Gafford Ladies and Dynamic SS Jjeza WFC
