The long awaited new format of cricket tournament in the country finally took shape on 10th-11th December 2022 where Ejibat registered a notable result to win the inaugural Batball open east edition.

A number of four games were played on the second day that included placement games and the final.

The event saw a number of officials in the Teso region and the governing body of cricket representative in the country witness the new journey of the young talent in the region.

“Our boys have been short of cricket playing the game once a year during Boys schools cricket week and this new formed format will give them more playing time,” said Felix Musana, Chairman Soroti Cricket Academy.

“I would like to thank Batball for this new innovation where our youngsters are being watched all over the world playing this beautiful game of cricket, and for us as Uganda Cricket association we look forward to growing this partnership further,” mentioned Chairman UCA.

For the tournament that attracted parents of the players to come and watch their children play will surely be a big boost in their career.

“I would like to thank everyone who has made this tournament possible, all the people behind the scenes, i thank you,” said Aakarshit Madaan, CEO Batball.

“We shall be hosting Batball open events every year and the best 16 players from Batball Open East Edition will represent the Teso region in the next challenge called Batball X,” he added.

“The selected players from Batball open east edition will be mentored in all ways nutrition, get exchange programs so that they are ready for the next challenge,” CEO Batball summarised.

This is one of the many events that shall be hosted by Batball Uganda Limited with their respective partners and the second being Batball Open Nile Edition that will be played on 17th-18th December 2022 at Jinja SS Cricket Oval.
