The Federation of Uganda Football Association President Eng.Moses Magogo has been sworn in today as a new member of parliament for Budiope East Constituency.

Yesterday he was seen escorting fellow member of parliament Anita Among who is the Bukedea woman MP and observers thought it was a smart move to gain confidence when his judgement day (day of swearing) comes.

Magogo replaced the incumbent Geofrey Dhamuzungu as the area member of parliament after defeating him in the party preliminaries where he got 79.6% of the votes.

He is expected to make his “debut” as a member of parliament as soon as the new speaker of parliament has been confirmed early next week. However, his first task as the newly elected MP is to participate in the voting for the new speaker of Parliament.

Rumours have been circulating that after Moses Magogo securing the parliamentary seat, his next move is to set his sights on a ministerial job and soon or later he may be the next minister of sports.

His odds for ministerial assignment are high as a result of his connections with the ruling party as it has been seen before. Magogo has been a key pillar in securing funds for the association from the government and it is believed that he was the brain behind the government’s commitment to paying salaries of national team players.

His swearing in comes just less than a week after his appointment as Vice Chairman of the organizing committee for the 2022 CHAN tournament by the Confederation of African Football.

Magogo who is a member of the CAF executive committee as a representative for the Central and East African zone will deputise Cameroun FA president Mbombo Njoya who acted as vice president organizing committee in the previous edition of the CHAN tournament.

The team at would like to congratulate Eng. Moses Magogo and wish him all the best in his latest adventures.
