Express Football Club, a Uganda Premier League team headquartered in Wankulukuku, introduced MelBet as their new official jersey sponsor on Friday morning.

This was made official on Friday at Muteesa II stadium in Wankulukuku in a ceremony that was attended by the Express Football Club and the Country Manager of MelBET, Mr. Kamwesigye Andrew, Melbet Sale’s Manager, Mrs. Nassuna Teopista, Melbet Digital Manager, Mr. Nick Sakwa, and Express FC CEO Isaac Mwesigwa and his Assistant Patricia Ayebare.

Starting with the start of the 2022–23 season, MelBet will take Betway’s spot as the Red Eagles’ shirt sponsor. This agreement has a one-season duration with a potential extension.

Although Express Football Club hopes to be the first Ugandan Premier League team, the betting company has already sponsored a variety of businesses.

The Red Eagles are currently attempting to recover from a financial crisis that has affected all Uganda Premier League teams when this event takes place.

Mr. Andrew Kamwesigye, the country director for Melbet, shared his enthusiasm with the media while speaking at the occasion.

“We are excited to partner with Express FC because they’re a championship-winning team, we are committed to supporting Ugandan sports and we’re just starting on a long journey”, he said.

According to Club CEO Isaac Mwesigwa, this is a great deal for the club

“We are very honored to have MELBET join us for this coming season and most certainly for many years to come. New Jerseys and Replicas will be coming soon and I am excited to reveal that we will have the best Jersey in UPL this 2022/23 season.I request the fans to stay calm”, Club CEO Isaac Mwesigwa said.

MELBET will appear on match day jerseys at the back below the Number and will appear on social media platforms of the red eagles for the coming season, he confirmed. With some fresh additions to their club, such as new teenagers who were brought up to the first team and their new acquisitions, Express, which ended sixth on the log with 46 points after 28 matches, will be expecting to improve in the following season.
