Express FC come from behind to beat URA FC in the Uganda Cup Last 16

Express FC Line-up: 10-Otim, 27-Ssekyembe, 15-Walusimbi (C), 4-Juuko, 21-Mubuya, 12-Kakooza, 8-Byamukama, 96-Lwesibawa, 25-Musiige, 18-Kiiza, 7-Kambale.
Substitutes; Kusiima, Shabene, Bbosa, Kayiwa, Mayanja, Mutyaba, Kalanda.

URA FC Line-up: 1-Alionzi, 3-Hudu, 13-Majwega, 17-Nyakoojo, 20-Mandela, 5-Mbowa, 14-Sseruyidde, 7-Ojera, 18-Mutyaba, 8-Kagimu, 25-Ibrahim
Substitutes:  Sebalunyo, Kigongo, Ssali, Ntege, Ssenyonga, Sserubiri, Nkuubi.

URA FC took an early lead through Dada Ibrahim in the 2nd minute of the game before Martin Kiiza’s 17th minute equalizer for Express.

Shafik Kagimu came close to putting the Tax collectors ahead after he dribbled past skipper Enock Walusimbi but Denis Otim’s fingertip save denied him the chance in the 31st minute.

After 35 minutes played URA FC’s Sserubiri Ivan came in for Julius Mutyaba and it was the first substitute of the game 

Centre referee George Olem blew the final whistle of half time and it was all square at the break.

Godfrey Lwesibawa and Martin Kiiza both missed chances to put their teams ahead early in the second half. 

Express FC brought in fresh legs where Ivan Mayanja came in for Mahad Yaya Kakooza in the 60th minute and Frank Kalanda for Charles Musiige three minutes later.

Eric Kambale found the back of the net in the 64th minute resulting from a corner kick to give Express Fc a 2 : 1 lead.

Express made their 3rd substitute where Ibrahim Kayiwa came in for goal scorer Martin Kiiza in the 71st minute and one minute later URA FC made their second substitute as Ssali Davis replaced Ojera Joackim.

URA FC’s continued efforts to get an equalizer to improve their advantage going into the return leg did not yield any result by the end of the 2 added minutes and subsequently lost the game. The tax collector’s quarter final hopes now remain in the second leg at home which they must win.
