The Red eagle today hosted Onduparaka FC in the league, Vying to keep pace with the table leaders of this year’s Uganda Premier League. Wasswa Bbosa’s side, aware of the threat and history that Onduparaka possesses over them, had the best of the first half period even though it ended goalless.
Despite the Caterpillars pedigree against the red eagle at Wankulukuku, today they went all out attack to rewrite their history against a side that has been struggling in the league this season. The men from Arua came into this game after 3 back to back defeats and were looking to salvage something in this game.
But Wasswa Bbosa’s side showed the composure and determination that they had lacked in their previous encounters against Onduparaka over the years and scored 2 second half goals through Erick Kambale to deepen Onduparaka woes this season. Eric Kambale opened the scoring in the 79th minute to put express a head, before he completed his brace in the extra added minutes after normal time to give his side a historic 2 : 0 win against a side they have struggled to beat at Wankulukuku over the years.Express remains in the 3rd position on 43 points, whereas Onduparaka continues to sink deep as they suffer yet another defeat. This season could get worse for them if they continue to drop points at this rate.
