Mbarara City without their head coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi had the assistant  coach Sadick Sempigi to thank for the tactical master plan that gave them a 1:1 draw against Express FC today in the Uganda Premier League. Mbabazi  was left in Mbarara under unclear circumstances

Half time ended goal-less but with both Mbarara City and Express FC defending well to finish halftime without any side taking the lead.

The home side then broke the deadlock in the second minute of the second half through Martin Kizza Lubwama who managed to curl home a 20 yards free kick to give his side the lead. Five minutes into the final half, the Ankole boy gave Express an advantage when defender Ronald Otti was sent off by the referee with a second yellow card.

Mbarara City then made a change and decided to remain composed as well as focused, which paid them a dividend with an equalizer in the 71st minute through forward Henry Kitegenyi, who scored to make it 1:1.

The two teams then ended up sharing a point by the end of the match.
