The Futsal Super League season was slated to come to a close today Saturday June 19, 2021, with four fixtures on the card at Old Kampala Sports Arena, Mengo. The following fixtures listed below were duly scheduled for today.
Aidenal SOSA Vs Kampala Junior Team (KJT), 5th and 6th place
Yeak Kabowa Vs Kisenyi, 7th and 8th place
3rd Place play off,
Mengo Vs Synergy
Big Talent Soccer Academy Vs Park Futsal Club
But in light of the presidential state of the nation address on the COVID-19 situation in the country, where all sport activities were suspended for the next 42 days, the Futsal Association of Uganda has postponed today’s futsal activities until further notice. FAU in a statement issued by the FAU Communications & Public Relations Officer, Mr. Wantimba Moses on their website, stated that “In the interest of Public Health and for the safety of the Futsal community, following the most recent directives issued by the president of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Friday 18thJune 2021 around the overwhelming surge of the COVID-19 cases, all FAU competitions are here by postponed till further notice.”
He continued by saying, ”FAU adds to this a critical voice and urges all people to observe COVID-19 Standard Operating procedures and to stay safe,”
This is a huge disappointment to all the teams and players who had prepared for today’s final who now have to wait for another time to play in this year’s Futsal Super League final.
