Ugandan referees are to acquire FIFA badges for the calendar year 2023, according to a list confirmed by the world football governing body, FIFA.

There are 24 names on the list that FUFA presented to FIFA, including 8 center referees and 10 assistant referees for the eleven-aside game.

The two places for futsal from this year continue, along with the four slots for beach soccer.

The lone increase to 24 comes from the major football, as Lucky Razaake Kasalirwe of Uganda gained an additional berth.

One of the three new names on the annual roster is the burgeoning center referee. Assistant referees Timothy Gumisiriza Karusigarira and Elizabeth Nassolo make up the other two.

Notable among the missing names is Ronald Madanda.

He was the center referee for the abandoned Onduparaka vs. KCCA game in Arua in December of last year and was later given a six-month suspension for his bad refereeing.

Despite serving his suspension until June of this year, he was unable to reapply because he had not officiated a match abroad during the entire year.

On the list, Lucky Kasalirwe, the son of former referee Edris Kasalirwe, has taken Madanda’s place.
