Tooro United have secured a slot in the Uganda Premier League after beating Kigezi Homeboyz FC 1-0 on the last day of the season at Wankulukuku stadium.
Tooro United FC’s Talisman Marvin Oshaba scored the only goal from the spot after he was brought down in the forbidden area.
Tooro United FC had their chances of qualification taking a twist after a barren draw with Luweero United FC in the second last game of the season.
“It was not a simple game, the Visitors had no pressure like us but my boys managed to follow instructions and kept in character. It was not an easy season but I am happy that I have fulfilled my goal,” said Tooro United FC Coach, Edward Golola.
They finish top of Rwenzori Group with 31 points above Proline FC and Nyamityobora FC who finished with 29 points and 24 points respectively, the two teams will battle for the third-place playoffs.
