FT: Blacks Power FC 1-1 Arua Hill SC

Venue: Emokori Ground, Bukedea

Arua Hill held to a one all draw by Blacks Power in match day eight of the FUFA Big League at Emokori Ground, Bukedea.

The Leopards took the lead through Alfred Leku’s second half goal meanwhile Micheal Siwu scored for the hosts to level matters.

Hussein Mbalangu made one change from the previous lineup, with an opportunity given for Rashid Kawawa to start ahead of Baden Mujahid.

Mbalangu was forced to make an early substitution in the 17th minute with introduction of Rajab Kakooza when Allan Mugalu was badly fouled by Jackson Obwana hence incurred injury.

The first chance of the game was created by Alfred Leku in the 19th minute when he offered a pass to Rashid Agau but the winger lacked accuracy in his final touch therefore missed the target.

The hosts had their chance when James Okiror shot wide in the 24th minute. Three minutes later Micheal Siwu’s attempt was blocked by Richard Anyama from getting in.

Arua Hill asked another question through Dan Birikwalira whose free kick went powerfully direct to Emmanuel Odong but the keeper tipped it off for a corner in the 34th minute.

The 42nd minute saw Micheal Siwu deliver a corner which Innocent Maduka headed direct to Richard Anyama’s gloves.

The second half started on a bright note for Arua Hill but a breakthrough slipped off in the 54th minute after Mike Kawooya’s head brush off Dan’s throw in failed to beat Odong.

Rashid Kawawa unintentionally checked Odong’s presence when he attempted to swing in a cross off Leku’s pass in the 56th minute before he was substituted off for Baden Mujahid.

With the introduction of Baden and Samari Ajobe who came in for Rashid Yakin in the 61st minute, Mbalangu was on point as three minutes later, Baden swung in a cross that Leku headed home to open the scores.

The feeling of victory lasted only for 20 minutes as Micheal Siwu leveled matters in the 84th minute from the edge of the box with his right footed strike. From there, both sides pushed for a winner but it ended 1-1.

With the result, Arua Hill though has superior goal advantage, missed the chance to maintain the two-point gap and are now joint leaders of the Elgon Group with Gaddafi FC who beat Mbale Heroes 2-0 at Mbale Municipal Stadium.

The Leopards now turn their focus to Kataka FC for their next challenge slated for 19/05/2021 at Mbale Municipal Stadium.
