FT: Arua Hill SC 2-0 Mbale Heroes FC
Venue: Barifa Playground

Arua Hill SC managed to beat nine-man Mbale Heroes FC with Allan Mugalu’s first half header and Baden Mujahid’s first Big League goal for the club which sealed the win for the hosts.

Arua Hill SC have now gone 11 games unbeaten in the FUFA Big League this season with 23 points on top of the Elgon group.

Arua Hill SC made only one change in their usual starting XI, with Aggrey Kiirya taking over the right fullback position from Rashid Yakin who remained on the bench.

The game started in a high gear where Richard Anyama delivered a long ball into Mbale Heroes’ box right to Baden Mujahid who released to Alfred Leku who also passed to the right for Gadafi Gadinho who accurately picked out Mugalu before the attacking midfielder powered home the header in the 2nd minute.

2 minutes later Ibrahim Kibumba attempted to find an equalizer for the visitors but his freekick went wide.

Brian Olega was booked in the 10th minute for a rough play on Richard Anyama meanwhile Edmond Wamboka’s strike was too direct and powerless to beat Anyama.

Mugalu’s early goal was the difference between the two teams at the end of the first period

Fide Muhwezi made efforts to save his side at the start of second half with a powered header but it went wide.

Mbale Heroes received a triple Yellow card after three players were booked with Joel Ayella, Fide Muhwezi and Buchochera Jamal all falling victim in the 52nd minute, then five minutes later Buchochera was shown marching orders for rough play on Paddy Muhumuza.

In the 70th minute Godfrey Lubagkene came for the visitor’s rescue with a goal-line clearance after the goalkeeper was beaten from outside the box

Triple substitutions were made for Arua Hill SC with Rajab Kakooza, Rashid Kawawa, and Aggrey Atandu coming in for Allan Mugalu, Rashid Agau and Rashid Muhamed in the 73rd minute whereas Brian Ade was brought in for Alfred Leku in the 82nd minute.

Double substitution was made for Mbale Heroes FC where Stephen Makumba came in for Fide Muhwezi and Faisal Kiberu for Luka Okori in the 78th minute.

Ade managed to play for only two minutes as Hilbert Hatimu intentionally went rough on him before he was left injured and vulnerable to continue and he was replaced by Ajobe, meanwhile Hatimu became the second Mbale player to be sent off and they were reduced to 9 men.

Baden wrapped up the scoring in the 90th minute after picking a pass from Gadafi Gadinho and dribbling past Mbale players before looping the ball over to seal the win.

Arua Hill will now have 11 days to prepare for their next fixture with Calvary FC in June and a win in that game will widen their Uganda Premier League qualification chances.
