FUFA Big League: Draw with Maroons FC leaves Mbale Heroes FC at risk of relegation

Mbale Heroes FC’s relegation battle continues with only two games remaining to the end of the season after a 2 all draw with Maroons FC.

Currently, the Surgeons from Mbale are lying in the third last position on the Elgon group table with 13 points from 12 games.

Maroons FC missed many of their players due to injuries and suspensions and these include Omara Samuel, Bronson Nsubuga, Bayiga Patrick, Nelson Mandela, Zziwa Vincent, Kawawulo Isma and Nalugoda Amir.

Fred Amaku was on the score sheet 24 minutes into the game and the second goal came from Amanya Junior who scored a powerful header from the left wing to double the lead.

Two minutes before the halftime break Mbale Heroes FC got a consolation through a well-converted spot-kick by Ibrahim Kibumba who also scored another penalty for an equalizer in the 51^st minute.

Both teams continued searching for more goals but they couldn’t score anymore and the final score was a 2-2 draw.

Maroons FC is currently in the 5^th position on the Elgon group table with 14 points from the 12 games played.

 In another game played by the Rwenzori group, Nyamityobora FC beat Kigezi HomeBoyz FC in a five-goal thriller to move back to the second position one point ahead of third-placed Proline FC who have a game in hand against Luwero United Fc on Sunday 6^th June.
