The 2022/2023 FUFA Big League season first round ended with each of the sixteen clubs playing a total of fifteen games.
Kitara FC emerged table leaders with 31 points, Mbarara City Fc second and NEC FC third all level with 30 points.
It should be known that at the end of the season the top three teams will automatically get promoted to the Uganda premier league. Four teams from bottom will be relegated to region League.
In the red zone are Kaaro Karungi Fc 13th with 16 points, Soroti City Fc 14th with 14 then Adjumani Town Council Fc and Northern Gateway Fc 15th and 16th with 13 and 10 points respectively.
Booma Fc captain Omedi Denis finished as the leading with 16 goals, Patrick Henry Kaddu from Kitara Fc 2nd with 15 and Mbarara City Fc’s Henry Kitegenyi 3rd with 13 goals.
Kitara FC and NEC FC won most matches at the end of first round each with nine victories. On the other Soroti City FC and Northern Gateway FC suffered many defeats each with nine.
Coach Mark Twinamasiko coached side Kitara FC scored the highest number of goals 34 followed by Mbarara City FC 27. Northern Gateway FC conceded many goals 33 then Soroti City FC 28.
Police FC and Mbarara City FC had many draws at the end of first round each with six.
Four teams ended first round unbeaten at their home grounds, they are Kitara FC who won all the eight scoring 27 goals letting in just four and keeping four clean sheets.
Mbarara City who played eight games at Kakyeka stadium won seven and drawn one. Police FC won four drawing three of the seven matches played at Kavumba recreation ground.
NEC FC who host their game at Bugolobi coffee ground won five and drawn two of the seven played at first round.
Second round of the season returns after two weeks of break-off.
