Tooro United today hosted Proline FC in the Rwenzori Group looking forward to ousting Nyamityobora who climbed to the top yesterday after securing a 2:1 win yesterday over Luwero United. And one name that will not leave Proline FC players lips so soon is that of Marvin Oshaba who scored his 8th goal of this competition by acrobatically volleying home the only goal that handed Tooro their 1-0 victory over Proline FC at the Buhinga stadium in Fort Portal.
Tooro United needed a win to go top of the Rwenzori Group. After yesterday’s win for Nyamityobora against Luwero United, they were left in second position. And today in Fort Portal, Marvin Oshaba a second year Student at Makerere University who already has 8 goals to his name in this competition scored the lonely goal that made the difference between the two sides.
He scored an acrobatic volley that will be remembered as one of the best goals in this campaign. His goal was bitterly protested by the Proline players who argued that Oshaba scored from an offside position but the referee assistant did nothing and allowed the goal to count.
Tooro United, without their captain Ali Ayatty still defended well to see the game through until the end of the full 90 minutes in Fort Portal to climb back to the summit of the Rwenzori group table standings. From the looks of things, Tooro United at this rate could be among the teams that will participate in the Uganda Premier League next season.
