Despite all sport activities remaining open as per the presidential speech on 6th June 2021, restrictions put on other sectors are beginning to affect sporting activities. According to the president, all inter district movements are banned for 42 days and this also impinges on football as it requires players travelling to play matches in other districts.

Due to such restrictions, FUFA has decided to make an adjustment to some of the Big League fixtures that were to be played on the 10th June 2021. One such fixture was the match between Arua Hill and Gaddaffi FC in the Elgon Group, It was supposed to be played on Thursday 10th June, but rescheduled by the FUFA Competitions Department to Wednesday 9th June, 2021.

The FUFA competition director Hajjat Aisha Nalule  stated, “Following the President’s directive of suspending inter district travels, this is to inform you that the FUFA Big League fixture for  match Day 13 which were supposed to be played on 10th June 2021 has been rescheduled to Wednesday 9th June 2021.

The venue for this match remains unchanged as the match will still be hosted at Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe in Jinja city, except it will take place one day earlier than the expected date communicated to the clubs before. Currently Arua Hill is the leader of the Elgon group with 26 points, three points above Gaddafi FC, but the two teams both have two games remaining to play and anything can change for both of them given how the results in those two remaining fixtures swung in.

As it is always the case, three clubs will be promoted to the Uganda Premier League from the FUFA Big League, where two of them who finished top of their respective groups will get direct promotion to the UPL, but the third one will be decided over promotional play off.
