FUFA Elections 2021: District Football Associations elect their leaders

The grassroots elections of delegates at the district level were successfully concluded across the country in the 8 regions of Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), and it will be followed by the regional elections this coming weekend.

These are the names of the persons elected to the various FUFA positions at the Districts in all the eight FUFA regions.

Kitara region

Referee Robert Donney, one of the outspoken delegates from this region was beaten drastically after collecting only 2 votes. He lost to his two opponents in Amon Ainebyona and Saddam Twaha Bwambale who both collected 14 votes each.

Moses Asiig was elected the chairperson and both Faisal Bagumira and Wycliff Kabiito will represent the region’s referees and coaches respectively from Kasese.

Central region

In Wakiso district, long serving chairman Abbey Mbaziira retained his position.

But for the delegate position Sulaiman Sejjengo, Mariam Nakulima and Ahmed Sudir Nsubuga were elected respectively.

In the referees’ representatives position Sharon Atuhaire, Charles Wasswa, and Freddie Mpiima Nyumirizza were elected.

Central Kampala

Two men were re-elected that is Yusuf “Chuni” Kyeyune and Sunday Moni Muyanja. Kusipa Muniira was also elected as the third delegate.

Jackson Busingye, Simon Peter and Elizabeth Nassolo were elected as the referees’ representatives. Simon Kirumira and Edwin Laston Haumba came in as the coaches’ representatives and Ronald Baazi as the players’ representatives.

Luwero District

Still in the central part of the country, in Luwero, Rogers Mulindwa, a FUFA Executive Committee member returned among the three delegates coming from Luweero. He along with Richard Kirabira and Christine Nabwire will represent Luwero.

Wilfred Kato Muhumuza comes in as the district chairperson, whereas the referees’ representative position was occupied by Adams Kiguli, Edward Lugolobi and Shamirah Nabukenya.

The former Express Football Club forward Samuel Galiwango was elected as the players’ representative.

Western Region

FUFA Executive committee member Rogers Byamukama together with George Kabwimukya and Brenda Mugisa were elected as the delegates in Masindi district.

Murushidi Abigaba was elected the Masindi district chairperson. Christopher Seemu Kugonza, Muhammed Bebwa, and Shakila Nyange were elected as the referees’ representative for the district, while Yahaya Lubega came in for the coaches.

Mbarara District

Still in Western Uganda, Salim Twaha Blanden was elected the chairperson in Mbarara. While in the delegates positions, Kabateraine Bwengye, veteran Sseka Mutaka and Perpetua Mwesigire were elected respectively.

In the referees’ representative position, Saac Sserwadda, Emmy Kakooza and Olive Atwongyeire were elected to represent Mbarara.

Swaibu Kaweesi, Salim Twaha Blanden and Anitah Nayebare will represent the coaches for Mbarara.

West Nile Region

In the West Nile region, former KCCA player Rashid Apangu was voted as Arua district football chairperson. Whereas Mike Letti and Bosco Candia were elected as delegates with Ben Adrole and Summary Asiku as referee representatives.

Abdu Omary Muhamedin is the delegate for coaches.

Eastern Region

Mbale District

In Mbale District, Latif Mafuko and son Nasuur Nandala, along Safina Nagudi bounced back as delegates. Whereas Majidu Buyinza Mulekwa took the chairperson position for the district while Salim Kayiwa and Allan Makweta will represent the referees.

Butaleja District

In Butaleja district, Admin Football Club head coach Nasibu Nditta won the chairperson position for the district.

Baker Nasoma and Davison Were elected as delegates while the Kabasa duo of Isaac and David are referee delegates.

Northern Region

In Moroto district, Albino Lobong was elected the chairperson of the District, with Denis Loumo and Simon Peter Longoli as the delegates whilst Richard Odongolo and Ali Amuza Nabugodi elected as the two referee representatives.

Stay tuned this coming weekend, and get to know who will be elected for the regional level positions. The elective assembly for FUFA is slated for August 2021 on a date and venue yet to be confirmed.
