After a poor start of the women elite league season Asubo Gafford Ladies camp was in chaos with disagreements and arguments on the poor results so far shown by the club.
Christine Nambirige who has recently joined the team left the camp after a heated argument with teammates and the club officials, despite the efforts by Managers and League organizers to cool her down she picked her property and left the camp.
The former She Corporates and Crested Cranes defender was the fault for the stoppage time equaliser that the team conceded.
Not forgetting even the first loss to King of Kings on Saturday, Nambirige was at fault for the goal that Evelyn Katusiime scored.
After the game, her angered teammates were disappointed by her performance and they thought she was the reason for their poor performance.
As it stands the Asubo everybody expected to be among the superiors in league are now trailing at the bottom of group A with only one point, and its last game will be against Luweero Giant Queens which is a must win in order to Progress to the playoffs or remain in the league for another season.
Despite having a good team, Asubo Gafford Ladies have played below expectations and find themselves between a rock and hard place ahead of their final group game.
With just one point in two games, the team have to win against Luweero Giant Queens and hope that Dynamic SS Jjeza don’t win against King of Kings who already qualified.
The Asubo Gafford Ladies camp seem to have put Nambirige’s saga aside and now all the focus is about winning the final group game.
In the absence of Christine Nambirige who left the camp, Rachael Tukamuhebwa is expected to partner Claire Namatovu in central defence.
Luweero Giant Queens are second on the table with three points and will equally hope to get a positive result to earn a slot into the knockout stage.
The team coach hopes that striker Teddy Achandi comes to the party like she did in their comeback win against Dynamic SS.
Tuesday’s game in group A will be played at the same time with the other encounter between Kings of Kings WFC and Dynamic SS Jjeza WFC moved to Rays of Grace playground.
