FT: Ehcos WFC 1-1 Lango Queens
Venue: FUFA Technical Centre Njeru
Ehcos WFC’s hopes of qualifying to the knockout stages of the FUFA Women Elite League were revived with a late equalizer against Lango Queens in the match played today Wednesday 26th May.
A 6-1 loss in their opening game against SHE Maroons seems to have been an eye opener to the team, Ehcos returned a better side and eventually earned a point.
Joan Adong scored two minutes before the break to give Lango queens a first half lead but a late equalizer by substitute Martha Ajoro leveled the scores before full time.
Both teams had plenty of chances to score but their final third was not sharp enough to utilize the chances
It was Adong who broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute with her powerful strike going straight into the back of the net to make it 1-0 before the half time break.
Ehcos WFC’s goalkeeper was unfortunate when she sustained an injury that kept her out of the second half and she was replaced by Grace Ikalamu who performed well without conceding any goal.
In the last minutes of the game Ajoro who replaced Rachael Abiyo found the back of the net for the equaliser.
The final whistle was blown when the game was still 1-1.
Lango Queens have two points in two games and will play SHE Maroons on Friday while Echoes on the other hand with one point will take on Wakiso Hills.
