She Maroons secured their slot in the Semi-finals of this year’s FUFA Women Elite League in style after beating Ajax Queens on Sunday afternoon with three goals coming in the first 13 minutes of the game.

The Prison Warders displayed a great performance against the Bulenga Queens to complete their fourth consecutive win of the tournament.

She Maroons FC dominated the game from the first minute of the game making them the favorites of the day.

Team Captain Millicent Namwembe with the help of birthday girl Kauthara Naluyima opened the chapter with a beautiful goal after beating Joanita Nassali for a pace to slot past onrushing goalkeeper Pamela Nakayondo to give her team a lead just two minutes into the game.

Five minutes later, Babirye Anita ran from the right wing to strike a long range shot that went straight into the back of the net producing one of the best goals at the tournament.

With the game 2-0 just after seven minutes played She Maroons FC kept surging forward and Namwembe got her second on the day in the 13th minute to stretch the lead further, this was her 5th goal of the tournament.

Ajax Queens seemed to have calmed their nerves and She Maroons contended with the big lead and slowed down the tempo a bit.

At the start of the second half, Ajax Queens lost goalkeeper Nakayondo through injury and striker Annet Namwenge switched to goal.

Jacinta Nanjobe who replaced Nakayondo got the consolation for Ajax Queens with her left-footed effort beating goalkeeper Esther Akujo in the 67th minute.

She Maroons FC will face Wakiso Hills WFC in the semifinals on Tuesday 1st June. The latter edged Amuria High School WFC 1-0 in the first Quarterfinal today morning.
