The futsal Super League started today after long months of waiting due to the COVID-19 pandemic pandemic. Key to today’s opening matches in the competition were the stellar performances of Big Talent and Synergy, who made a big entry into this year’s competition with some big wins. Big Talent were up against the KJT in the Albert Nile group where they emerged victorious with 7-11 goals.
Another fixture in the Albert Nile Group, also saw Mengo beating Aidenal SOSA 8-2 to start the competition on a high.
In the Victoria Nile Group, we witnessed new entrants Synergy beat Kabowa Yeak 4-3 to secure their first win in this year’s competition. And still in that same group Park drew 4-4 with Kisenyi in a very tightly contested encounter with the two teams equaling each other in all proceedings.
Today’s matches produced a total of 43 goals with Big Talent Farouk Tumwesigye bagging 5 of the 43 goals scored to today in total on the first day for this competition.
For this year, Futsal Association Uganda responsible for this competition and Super League Manager Abubaker Kakule appreciated all the key stake-holders involved to have the super league get underway. The tournament has started very well with all the teams showing real intent to win and go further in this competition.
Match day 2 will be played on Saturday, 8th May 2021 at the same venue, kick off time is 10am.
