The early Saturday morning showers did not deter futsal lovers from getting a glimpse of Uganda’s finest as the match of the round between debutants Big Talent FC and Mengo FC ended 2-2 with both teams avoiding defeat in their opening three fixtures of the 2021 Futsal Super league.
Mengo fell behind to Farouk Tumwesigye strike, only for Lamech Mwebaza to level matters through a penalty kick.
Mengo then stamped their authority on the match only for Maawiyah Abdullah to put them ahead for the first time in the match. Big Talent started piling pressure on Mengo and their efforts were rewarded towards the end of the match with Ronald Kaye coming to their rescue to level the match.
Both teams lost their 100% record but are unbeaten this season with Mengo leading the group on goal difference with seven points.
Four goal hero Marvin Kavuma handed Aidenal SOSA FC their first points of the season in the 8-5 win against Kampala Junior. The win for Aidenal moves them third on the table with three points, four points behind the top two teams in the Albert Nile group while KJT sit rock bottom with no point after round three of matches.
The top of the table clash in the Victoria Nile group saw Synergy walk away 2-1 winners against Kisenyi in match day 3’s penultimate match. Goals from Travis Mutyaba and Yasin Sabir ensured that Synergy topped the group with 7 points, three clear of 2nd placed Kisenyi.
In the group’s other game, a hat-trick from Timothy Ssempira and a goal from Jovan Mawejje to seal a 4-2 victory for Kabowa against Park FC. The victory for Kabowa pushed them to third position, one point behind second placed Kisenyi FC while Park FC dropped down to the bottom of the group.
