Ever Since the start of the Futsal Super League last month, Newcomers Synergy has set the competition ablaze and their wonderful performance has already seated them top of the Victoria Group. Today they were in contention against Yeak Kabowa in the morning at Old Kampala Arena in Kampala.

Right from the start of the match, glimpses of stardom from gifted Yasin Sabir who netted a brace in the game and he had great support from his teammates in Tarvin Kevin Kyeyune, Ivan Irinimbabazi and Tarvis Mutyaba who each scored one goal apiece to give Synergy a 5-3 win over Yeak Kabowa.

Goals from Abdul Swaburu Mugenyi, Ivan Mutebi and Caros Kaddu scored the three goals for Yeak Kabowa but it was enough to grant them a victory over leaders Synergy.

The Futsal Super League debutants Synergy has taken this year’s competition by storm and demonstrated by their outstanding performances as result, they have now formed a formidable force of motivated talent capable of winning this championship. So far in this competition, the Masaka side has won three out of the four matches played and only drew in one of them.

Synergy coach Brian Ssenyondo is very happy with their 10 points to lead at the top in the Victoria Nile group, and considering that this is just only their first season he and his team is taking every match day as a learning experience irrespective of the outcome in those matches. They now sit 5 points above second-placed Park who had a 6-1 win over Kisenyi also today. For Yeak Kabowa with only one victory, they remain bottom of the group having suffered three defeats in the competition

Synergy’s next match will be against today’s big winner Park on Saturday, 29th May 2021 at 9 AM, and I will be interested to witness how this encounter between these two top teams will unravel. Yeak Kabowa will face Kisenyi at 10 AM.
