Arguably the game of the week, this was an early kick off at 14:00 HRS.
From the kick off, Pirates conceded a Penalty. Ebonga pointed and converted to put Hippos into an early lead. Pirates responded immediately with a try by Kabagambe. And Nkore converted . Game on 07-03. Pirates were then caught offside, Ebonga once again pointed and converted to cut the lead to 07-06. Pirates then had a try and conversion after the water break to extend their lead to 14-06 through a Maaso Solomon try and Ivan Magomu conversion. Pirates made another try and a conversion as the two teams went into halftime with the sea Robbers in a commanding lead.
Tim Kisiga extended Pirates’ lead immediately after restart in a half that was mainly dominated by the sea robbers. Hippos only managed a try and missed the conversion in the second half to succumb to a third loss in a row of 33-11.
This win means Pirates retain second position trailing KOBs as they go into the last game of the season against the table leaders.
