At one point Police FC were the table leaders, but a turn in events have seen Police FC dropping to the 4th position with 31 points, 8 behind the current table leaders Vipers who are topping the table on goal difference. This has of course been attributed to poor refereeing decisions going mostly against them, but aside from that, I think the team hasn’t done enough in regards to consistency this season. The cops have managed to pick 4 draws and 4 losses this season.

The match against Vipers saw Police FC chairman AIGP Asan Kasingye being fined Shs.2.5M and threatened with a suspension from any football related activities after coming on to the pitch in protest over what he thought was an unfair refereeing decision.

This season has seen Police FC win by a margin of 2 or more goals in 8 of their 9 wins and have drawn a blank on only four occasions thanks to their exciting attacking play.

Police will have to rely on their top marksman Brian Muruli Mayanja who has scored 9 goals in the first half of the season, only 1 goal shy of URA’s Steven Mukwala’s 10.

The controversial 3 : 2 loss to Vipers was the only game Police FC lost by conceding 3 or more goals with the other defeats (3) ending in 1-0 loss except the defeat by the tax collectors where the score ended 2 : 0 in favor of URA FC . This calls for Abdallah Mubiru to look for more sources of goals in the second part of the season if Police is to move up the table and gain ground on the top placed Express.

With his defense conceding at least 1 goal in each of their last eight games, coach Abdallah Mubiru needs to work on improving the overall defensive department to avoid letting in too many goals in the 2nd half of the season in order to realize success. But as of now the team that has conceded 16 goals, mostly coming from teams in top 5 position this season.

As fans of their free-flowing football, we will be looking to see if they can add goals to their good football come the second half of the season.Final Report Comment: With only 13 games left to play for, Police FC holds the advantage over the misfiring KCCA FC to finish fourth but that will be only if they keep their form in front of goal especially when playing against opposition below them in the current standings. Ugsports.net predicts top six finish for the Cops.
