Former Red Eagles striker Hassan Mubiru is full of praise of the current crop of attacking force at the club. Mubiru who is currently employed by the club as the fitness coach is impressed by the goal scoring form of Eric Kambale, Frank Kalanda and George Senkaaba.

“I am very happy with the forwards Eric Kambale, Frank Kalanda, Kiragga Mustafa and George Senkaaba. They have done a fantastic job,” said the ex Uganda Cranes striker.

Mubiru who won the golden boot for three consecutive seasons (2001,2002 and 2003) with Express went ahead to brag that his good works behind the scenes are testament to what the forwards have achieved so far this season.

“I have endeavoured to guide all of them and to me they have done well. The competition amongst them is healthy and that has been their main motivation.” Mubiru continued.

Eric Kamabale leads the Express goal scoring charts with 17 goals while striking partner George Senkaaba has six and Frank Kalanda has five goals so far this season. In total the forwards have a combined 28 goals across all competitions which have seen the club climb to the top of the Uganda Premier League and book a slot in the semi finals of the Uganda cup.

With the league in the final stages before President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni announced the suspension of league action, Mubiru feels that teamwork is the only way to go if Express is to reclaim the league title they last won in 2013. “With the league now in the final bend, we need everyone’s support in the team and I am hopeful we shall come out on top,” concluded the former Express hitman.
