Head coach Milutin Sredejovic has invited Nelson Ssenkatuka to join the team that begins preparations for the upcoming CHAN tournament, days after selecting a 35-man preliminary Uganda Cranes roster.

This morning, FUFA verified this development.

The Bright Stars striker demonstrated his value to the team by helping Emmanuel Peter Loki as Bright Stars defeated KCCA at Kavumba on Tuesday.

Ssenkatuka has tied Maroons’ Amaku for the most goals scored in the Startimes Uganda Premier League this season with seven.

Milutin alias Micho hopes he can repeat the feat on the national stage.

The squad began practicing on Thursday morning at Lugogo.

Uganda is placed in Group B together with the Ivory Coast, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Senegal for the CHAN competition, which will begin on January 13, 2023, in Algeria.
