On Friday, August 26, at the MTN Arena, Lugogo in Kampala, the National Basketball League (NBL) playoffs for the 2022 season will get underway.

The much-anticipated playoff will begin in the quarterfinal round.

The top eight teams from both the men’s and women’s divisions square off against one another in a best-of-three series.

The team that wins two games in a row advances to the semifinals, which are best-of-five affairs.

The best of seven series will be used for the finals.

Number one from the regular season will face number eight in the playoffs, followed by numbers two through three and four against numbers seven through five.

On the schedule for the first matchday are two games.

It will feature a match between the men’s KIU Titans and Power and a match between the women’s KCCA Leopards and Angels.

In the regular season, the Angels came in fourth with 27 points, which included 9 points and 9 losses, while the KCCA Leopards came in fourth with 31 points, which included 13 wins and 5 defeats.

KCCA Leopards enter the playoffs having lost to the KIU Rangers 68-61 in their final regular-season game.

As a result, they must settle for fourth place on the standings and are paired with the Angels in the playoff quarterfinals.

The KIU Titans, who finished fourth in the men’s division with 39 points on the strength of 15 victories and 9 defeats, will face the Power, who took fifth place with the same record but a better head-to-head record.

On Saturday, July 27, and Sunday, July 28, four additional games will be played at the YMCA basketball courts in Wandegeya and Lugogo, respectively.

In the men’s and women’s categories, respectively, the defending champions are City Oilers and JKL Lady Dolphins.
