With relegation pressure beginning to mount on MYDA FC this season, they hosted Busoga United in the eastern derby. It was a one man army in Ibrahim Nsimbe, who lit up the fire that burned Busoga United to zero in today’s encounter at the King George memorial stadium, Tororo.
Nsimbe deservedly got the opener for MYDA FC in the 21st minute with a goal that put them ahead in the game. Busoga United got the chance to come back into the game through a penalty in the 28th minute but Sharif Kimbowa missed the vital penalty that could have leveled matters. MYDA FC, having survived the penalty scare in the 28th minute, doubled their league through Ibrahim Nsimbe once again in the additional 2 minutes of the first half. The two teams ended the first period with MYDA FC grabbing a 2:0 advantage in the game.
The second half started in Tororo with Ibrahim Nsimbe in a good mood to complete his hat trick in the game. The moment presented itself for the towering forward in the 63rd minute when he scored to complete his hat trick that gave his side a 3:0 lead over their eastern opponents, Busoga United.
This was only MYDA’s third victory of the season in 24 matches since being promoted to the top flight division, and this win now moves them to 14 points in the league but still remain second bottom. Whereas for Busoga United this was their 10th defeat of the season which leaves them with 26 points, and standing at the 13th position on the league table.
