The match between Yanga and Ihefu showcased a display of solid defense and attacking prowess from both sides, resulting in a deadlock during normal playing time. Yanga had a close scoring opportunity in the 28th minute when Maxi Nzengeli set up Aziz Ki with a well-placed cross inside Ihefu’s box, but the latter failed to hit the target. Unfortunate injury struck Yanga in the 43rd minute when full-back Nickson Kibabage had to be substituted off, making way for Joyce Lomalisa. Despite the injury setback, the teams continued to battle fiercely, and Ihefu’s Joseph Mahundi missed a golden chance just before halftime, with his shot going wide. The missed opportunity left Mahundi visibly disappointed as his team headed to the dressing room for the break.
