A key highlight of this training camp will be the series of friendly matches that Simba SC will engage in. These matches will serve as vital opportunities for the squad to gel, test new strategies, and assess player combinations in a competitive setting.
Conducive weather of Ismailia has been so vital in venue choice
“We hope to set up camp in Egypt, in the city of Ismailia. Our assessment has shown us that the weather is friendly there. Many teams are going to camp in Egypt, especially in the city of Ismailia because it is a lot calmer than Cairo which is too busy,” said Simba’s communication manager Ally Ahmed as quoted by the Guardian.
According to Ahmed, the club is set to leave for Egypt during the first week of July. “We expect to leave Dar es Salaam in the first week of July to go to Ismailia to set up a camp to prepare for the next season,” he added.

This expedition to Egypt marks Simba SC’s second pre-season training stint in the North African nation. In their previous visit to Egypt before the 2022/23 season, the club faced off against formidable local opponents such as Haras El Hodood, Ismailia, and Abou Hamad, gaining valuable experience and insights that paved the way for a successful campaign ahead.
However, as the team prepares for this new chapter, they face the challenge of addressing key departures within the squad. Notable exits include the likes of Shaban Chilunda, Saido Ntibazonkiza, Luis Miquissone, and Kennedy Juma, leaving significant gaps that need to be filled. The club’s communication manager has assured fans that all transfer dealings will be concluded before the team embarks on their Egyptian adventure, demonstrating a commitment to solidifying the team and ensuring they are well-equipped for the battles ahead.
Simba SC’s proactive approach to pre-season preparations, characterized by intensive training sessions, competitive friendlies, and strategic player recruitment, underscores their aspirations for success in both domestic competitions and on the continental stage. With a rich history and a passionate fan base rallying behind them, the Wekundu wa Msimbazi are poised to make a significant impact in the upcoming season, armed with a blend of talent, determination, and a relentless pursuit of excellence.
